Few minor admin details to take care of.

1) Team Colours:

EXCEPTIONALLY, EVERY PLAYER SHOULD BE THERE AT 7.15 P.M. FOR ADMINISTRATION DETAILS.

2) Sanjeev Parma
Because Sanjeev is special, he can only make the 9 o'clock games, which means he is a 'floater'.... Sanjeev will "float" on the following teams, no doubt walking around the pitch and blaming team mates for misplaced passes, berating them for lack of mobility and eventually scoring a 6o-yard matchwinning goal, before adjusting his naval piercing and going home.

3) Alternates
There are a list of alternate players who will replace absentees. These are players who could not commit to every week (like everyone else has done) but are available for the odd game here and there. They will keep the standard high. YOU MUST TELL ME, MARC LAPOINTE AND YOUR TEAM CAPTAIN ABOUT ANY GAME YOU WILL MISS BEFORE THE THURSDAY MORNING OF THAT WEEK OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOCATED A PLAYER TO REPLACE YOU. You will be shafting your own team by leaving the squad a man short. As an alternate, you should bring a $5-fee per match.

As I said, by agreeing to play in this league, you have committed to turning up every week, so I hope this first week is just an anachronism and will not be the norm.

4) Payment
Marc Lapointe is currently on the hook for nearly $6,000 for rental fees for the dome. The balance is due Friday night. Please make sure your cheque - PAYABLE TO MARC LAPOINTE - is in his hands as soon as possible. This is a priority.

5) Team Captains
Team captains (Dom Rochon, Steve Kowlessar, James MacMillan, Marc Labrom) are responsible for a couple of things, including: 1) ensuring any alternate player used has a uniform for the team; 2) making sure all players arrive on time for the warm up, and warm up & cool down properly; 3) substitutions during the game; 4) encouraging social activities post-game.

2006-10-30 Finalized Indoor Teams

Well, when I say finalized, I mean nearly finalized...

These are the teams of players for the indoor league, which starts Friday. We are in the hole financially for this BIG TIME - so you should make sure your payment reached Marc Lapointe BEFORE Friday (unless you contact him directly to make other arrangements).

There is a group of players who will act as Alternates - players who could not commit week in, week out like you all have. If for any reason (and there should be nothing other than forces majeures) you cannot play, you need to contact Marc Lapointe as soon as possible - and NO LATER THAN THE WEDNESDAY OF THE WEEK OR YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO PLAY.

The schedule of games is on an earlier post. You should be there well in advance of the game for a 30 minute warm up. The first week, there will also be administrative details to take care of, uniforms to distribute etc.

Tomorrow's game is outside, rain or shine, snow or hail, frost or blizzard. I've checked in the kit bags and there are no long johns, thermal undershirts or fleeces - so you are responsible for bringing your own.

Anyone wearing more than five layers of clothing will be fined.

2006-10-26: Directions to Ben Franklin Park

Here we go. According to the OCSL web site, Ben Franklin Park is at Hunt Club and Greenbank. Turn onto GIBBARD AVENUE and it is there, before you get to Knoxdale.

Alternatively, turn off Hunt Club at Knoxdale and then turn on to Gibbard. If you do this, Ben Franklin is before Greenbank.

Helen Keller could find it.

2006-10-24: Trial Game Saturday, 28 October

There is to be a trial game this Saturday, October 28, at 2 p.m. versus the Military Team. Andriy Szwarek has organized the game, which will take place at Ben Franklin field in Nepean (Hunt Club & Greenbank). Cut & paste the following link if it doesn't work. 2006-10-24: Teams for Indoor League Created

The teams for the Royals Indoor League at the Gloucester Dome are nearly complete. Four teams will compete in a mini-league over a period of 17 weeks. Games are at 8 pm and 9 pm - you should be there a minimum of 45 minutes prior to the game, so you have a 30 minute warm up. There will be a referee in charge of 2 x 29 minute halves with a 2 minute water break in between. Games must start and finish promptly.

You should contact Marc Lapointe ASAP to pay your $175 for this. It is a competitive league and there will be a prize of some sorts for finishing first.

Not all players have yet been assigned to the teams, but to keep everyone in the loop as early as possible, here is a tentative roster. One more player will be added per team, However, you have all committed to this and the objective is to (a) keep the quality high and (b) give everyone as much playing time as possible.
